Greetings to all UICOMP Emergency Medicine Graduates!
We would like to share an exciting opportunity that has recently come our way. Many of you may remember our annual ED pheasant hunt, which we believe was rather unique to our program. We have continued this tradition throughout the years, and now have something similar on a much larger stage. In this instance, we will now have the opportunity to incorporate CME!
The Department of Emergency Medicine at UICOMP, in association with "Wild Med Adventures" is hosting a South Dakota Pheasant hunt with 11.5 hours of Category 1 CME. South Dakota is the pheasant hunting capital of the world and if you have never been, it is awesome the number of birds you will see on one of these hunts. We have a lodge to ourselves with guides, food/drink and dogs, although you can bring your own as I plan on doing.
The CME is directed towards hunting and wilderness medicine topics and will be presented in formal lectures, but in a comfortable small group setting that creates a very interactive learning environment.
The course is directed by Dr. Ben Mattingly, MD, FAWM who is the Fellowship Director of the Wilderness Medicine fellowship at Baystate Medical Center in Western Massachusetts. He is the founder of "Wild Med Adventures," as well as a very accomplished alpinist and outdoor enthusiast. Ben is also an avid hunter and fisherman, and directs several of these trips yearly, in similar venues.
From UICOMP, Drs. Andy Vincent and Richard Frederick will also be faculty known to most all of you.
Please visit www.wildmedadventures.com for more details on this exciting hunt/CME opportunity.
Both Andy and Dick would be open to answering questions you may have and feel free to contact Ben as well.

Thanks for your consideration and we look forward to hopefully catching up with you all this fall/winter!
Sincerely,
Dick, Andy and Tim
