EMS Track

Picture
You will have the opportunity to join the EMS Track at the beginning of PGY-2 year.  This track is designed for emergency medicine residents who are interested in a career as an EMS medical director.  You will serve as an assistant medical director for a Peoria Area EMS agency and will be an active member of RMERT (the Regional Medical Emergency Response Team for IDPH Region 2).  All track residents will complete the TEMS tactical medicine elective early in PGY-2 year and have the opportunity to respond to calls with Peoria's tactical law enforcement team.  Quarterly EMS journal clubs and educational sessions will be held at a faculty member's house or local restaurant.  As an EMS Track resident, you will also participate with ongoing, cutting-edge research projects in the Peoria Area EMS System.  All EMS Track residents will complete the NAEMSP Medical Directors Course prior to graduation.

For further information about the EMS Tract, contact the EMS Section Chief at [email protected].
